Luisenpark Mannheim

We visited the LuisenPark in Mannheim on Saturday. It was gorgeous! Its basically a botanical garden but they have lots of playgrounds, a pond and 'Gondoletta' rides. A butterfly house- which was closed when we got there :-( and lots of places for cafes and picnics.

Here is a bee getting a treat... Sierra was scared that Mommy was going to get stung while I was taking this picture... hehehe

We took a ride on the Gondolettas. There were signs everywhere saying not to feed the animals, but apparently no body listens... because this is what the fish did when our boat came by (the boats are on a track around the pond)

Happy 4th of July!!!

Its crazy weather here! Its been raining for WEEKS! so we weren't sure if we would be able to see fireworks. It rained in the morning yesterday, but stayed clear for the Firework Show last night. But it was so very cold! 57 degrees! We had jackets and blankets on... it did NOT feel like JULY!!! The girls were major excited for the fireworks. We didn't get home and in bed until about 12:30-1am. The fireworks didn't even start until 10:30 when it FINALLY gets dark here.

It was a fun time though. The girls got to see some ponies (but they had closed the pony rides right before we showed up) and jump in a bouncy castle and bouncy maze. We just sat in our chairs and ate popcorn, cotton candy, and roasted almonds and peanuts while the girls played with a little girl whose family was sitting next to us. Karis saw about 30 seconds of the fireworks, fussed like she was scared and nursed under the blanket and konked out right after they started. Everybody had a fun time, and the girls looked so funny when we got home. Konked out in their seats with mouths wide open and about to drool! LOL! And I forgot to get a pic!

Just Checking In

Everything is going fairly well. It has been raining non-stop for about two weeks but I'm not complaining. Because of the rain, the weather is in the 60s for highs and 40s for lows. Not too shabby for almost July... eat your heart out Phoenicians!!! Did I mention I hate Phoenix! LOL! Of course this is weird weather, but we don't have AC or an Evap. Cooler. Just fans and we live on the third floor (heat rises) so its always hot in my house.

The girls are doing good. Karis will be one in two weeks! This last year went by so quickly and she is such a little mischief maker! Wonder where she gets that from? LOL! She's standing on her own and walking while pushing things such as chairs and ride-on toys. So she should be walking soon! I don't know if I'm ready for her to be walking! She already gets into enough stuff!

Ruby is a little brat, as usual, she's 2, what do you expect? She's been getting mouthy lately and has an attitude that I do not like. I keep telling myself that Sierra did the same thing and I just need to get through this stage without killing her! She's a cutie though... that's her saving grace.

Sierra is just way too smart for her own good. She remembers EVERYTHING! So make sure you don't tell her on Monday that we will go to a movie on Friday, because she will remind you!!! And she's into puzzles lately. Ever since a friend from the Netherlands visited and her children brought puzzles. And we've gotten her some hard ones for like 7 year olds and she is still doing them real quick. At least she enjoys doing them over and over... and over and over again! Oh and she is becoming quite the little photographer! She loves to use Mommy's camera to take pictures of her sister and Mommy and Daddy. She actually took this picture of us when we went outside for the few hours of sun on Monday.

Dustin and I are doing good. His job just got switched to a different squadron and he is on a normal schedule. No more nights, weekends, or weird shifts!! Oh, and he will get all Holiday's and Base down days off! I don't know what I'm going to do, I'm not used to him being home. LOL! He might get on my nerves! But he's enjoying being the 'supervisor' at work since he added that extra stripe to his arm! HAHA! I'm still doing full time daycare and have about 6 kids during the day (it fluctuates and the kids rotate, but most days I'm at 6 kidlets running around). I just keep telling myself that we are trying to get out of debt... If I can just stick it out another year and we will be good!

Okay, your turn! What's new with you?

Day Trip to Speyer

Over Memorial Day weekend we took a day trip to Speyer to see Sealife Europe. It was only an hour away and we were excited to go to what we thought was similar to a SeaWorld. Well, its just an aquarium, but it was still pretty neat. Afterwards, we walked around the city a bit and saw what we thought was a Castle. But as we got closer and up to the front, it was a Church. Sierra said maybe it was a Castle-Church and Ruby said maybe Baby Jesus and Cinderella are inside. LOL! Every church we've seen lately the girls have called it a Castle-Church and we have to stop and go see the church. :D

I got to meet Marinka!

One of my ScrapGoods friends came to visit us last week. Marinka is Dutch and lives in the Netherlands. We chatted online for about a year before we finally met in person. We had SO MUCH FUN!!! We scrapped (of course) and took the kids to the park and BX. And of course we had to go to the Craft Store in Heidelberg. My girls did not know Dutch and hers did not know English, but they found a way to play together. Sierra would boss around Sander in English like he understood her and he was doing the same thing in Dutch. LOL! It was so funny. Like I said, it was a great visit, and Sierra is already asking when we can go to the Netherlands and visit Marinka and 'that boy and girl' :-)

Karis and Remco. Karis was always taking something from him - usually his binky!

Happy Easter

Okay, I know this is a little late, but the other day it wasn't letting me upload pictures. SO here are the pictures of the girls on Easter. Saturday morning we went to the Kinderfest where Sierra and Ruby played on jumpy castles, did some arts and crafts, and got their faces painted. Sierra wanted to be a tiger and she looked pretty scary. Ruby wanted to be a butterfly, but after the did the outline, she had a meltdown and her tears streaked it so we wiped it off with a baby wipe. After the Kinderfest we saw the Easter Bunny at the Community Center.

Then on Sunday we went to church and had an Egg Hunt at the park. The girls had a blast and have tons of candy!! Enjoy the pictures.
