The Exodus – Little People Style!

The other day we watched The Prince of Egypt

So that took us to the Israelites crossing the Red Sea

Today we finished acting out the Exodus to the Ten Commandments

I thought it would be cute to take pictures of the girls. They had fun of course – score one for Mommy for thinking of using their favorite toy – Little People!

DSC_0023

Israelites getting ready to cross the Red Sea – see Karis’ face, she was the Pharaoh telling the Israelites that she was going to catch them and kill them!

DSC_0024

Moses parted the Red Sea with his staff and the people started crossing

DSC_0025

At the oasis of Marah where the water was bitter the people were complaining.  So Moses threw a piece of wood in the water (that would be the pencil – Sierra’s idea – lol) to make it drinkable

DSC_0026

In the wilderness with no food and complaining (again? Sierra asked) and the Lord sent manna (bread) and quail for food

DSC_0028

At Rephidim, where there was no water, and surprise surprise, they were complaining!! So God let water flow from a rock.

DSC_0030

And then Moses went up on the mountain and brought down the Ten Commandments, we wrote them out for the girls to study.

Next week – the Tabernacle – I’m a little intimidated, we will be building one from a design in the curriculum – wish us luck!

Sierra will do anything to keep from going to sleep.

I always catch her reading by her nightlight so I’ve had to take the books out of her room! And this morning she showed me a piece of paper that she had written a note on last night. She found a piece of paper and a pencil and wrote this (not edited for spelling)

Cooking, Moose, and Well Baby

The first weekend in October the library had a Book’em and Cook’em for the kids.  They had a story time where 2 books about pancakes were read.  Then the kids made chef hats, and then they got to mix their own pancake mix and eat them up.

And even Maddie enjoyed eating the pancakes. The girls made chocolate chip pancakes.  And then put syrup, whip cream, grape jelly and sprinkles on it – um… yum?  Hey, they ate them!

This Friday we pulled out of our garage and Sierra screamed, MOM! There are moose!! Apparently it NEVER gets old! LOL!  So I drove to around the culdesac and took pictures

A Momma moose and her two babies.  They’ve been eating in our yard a few times this week, and they have destroyed one tree in the front.  Here they are out back a few weeks before

And Maddie had her 6 month check up. Am I a bad mom because I didn’t even pay attention when they told me how much she weighed and how long she was… oops! Wait, I think they gave me a paper – lemme check.  Oh good.  For the Grandmas:  She is 65 cm tall, in the 25%tile. 15lb 7oz, 25%tile and 43.5cm head circumference, 75%tile.  LOL! What a FAT HEAD!

Evolution of a Turtle

So Maddie used to be our little Turtle head!  Straining her neck up, trying hard to keep it high and look around to see what’s going on around here.

Isn’t she adorable!!!  Such a cute little Turtle-head.  But she has evolved, and apparently the next step is FROGGIE!!!

Maddie now gets up on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth and then projects herself forward like a little leap frog!

Christmas Wish Lists!

Hey, I know its only September, but when you have 4 to shop for, you have to start early!

So I’ve been gleaning the girls Christmas wish lists from them… here are the answer’s I’ve gotten (note, they have been asked separate from each other over the course of a few days):

Me: Sierra, what are some thing you would like for Christmas?

Sierra: I really really want a cell phone!

Me: Uh huh… what else?

Sierra: Or an ipod, but really a cell phone!

Me: anything else?

Sierra: um.. a Wii, a cell phone, an ipod, and some DS games!

Me: okay, well, I’m not buying anything on that list!!

Sierra: that’s okay, I’ll ask Grandma Patty for a Wii!

**Didja hear that Grandma Patty – she thinks you’re made of money! LOL!)

Me: Karis, what do you think you want from Mommy and Daddy for Christmas

Karis: Um, either an ipod or a DS… hey, you said if I count to 10 I can get a DS! One, two, three, four, five, six, seven (she pauses and I start to worry!) eight…… (uh oh! we told her she could get a DS if she counted to 10!) um… Mommy, what comes next (PHEW!)

**Which I’m going to have to TOTALLY get her to change her mind, because that stubborn little girl still has about 3 months to learn 9 and 10, and she will for a DS!**

Me: hey Roo, what are some things you want for Christmas?

Ruby: um… I don’t know, whatever…

LOL! That is so Ruby!

So I’ve been doing some shopping, and I have Sierra done, Karis halfway, and nothing for Ruby or Maddie yet! EEK!

Daddy’s Last Night

Dustin’s last night home he asked the girls what they wanted to play.  Their answer… FASHION SHOW!!! LOL! Gotta love a house full of girls.  I took about 100 pictures as I was the photographer.

We all had a blast, even though the house was trashed from costume changes. Dustin and I couldn’t stop laughing at all the silly things they did.  Especially Karis!  At dinner that night she said she wanted a Nintendo DS for Christmas.  I told her you have to be 5 to get a DS – she said she really wanted one.  So I told her, if you can count to 10 ALL BY YOURSELF you can get a DS.  You should of seen her.  She counted 1 (holding up, one on both hands), then 2 (again, two on BOTH hands), 3, 4, and 5.  Then her eyes got all twinkly and she said looked at both her hands (which is 10 total fingers) and said 10!!!! NOW CAN I HAVE A DS!!!! LOL!
