Its a Good Thing she's Cute!

Last night I went to the commissary to do some food shopping. I got home about 8:15 and brought a load of groceries up. Dustin went down with Sierra (she likes to help) to get another load. I was going to help get one more load and then stay upstairs and put the groceries away while Dustin finished up. Ruby was standing in the hallway and I told her to keep an eye on Karis (she was in her bassinet) and Mommy would be right back. She said okay, and went back into the living room. Well, Sierra, Dustin and I all came up the stairs with groceries and Sierra couldn't get the door open. I tried the handle and it was locked! We rang the doorbell and Ruby came to the door. But she couldn't get it unlocked!

We tried to get her to turn the knob, and she couldn't get it, so I ran downstairs to a neighbor's and called maitenance. They said they would be right out. Dustin was still trying to get Ruby to turn the knob and she got frustrated and was saying "I can't do it" and throwing shoes at the door. I tried for a little bit and I heard Ruby start to cry and a door slam. By this time Karis is really pissed off and screaming. At least we could tell she was still breathing because we could hear her crying out in the hallway. But we waited 35 minutes for the maitenance guy to come unlock our door. The last 15 minutes we could hear Karis crying, but we didn't hear a peep out of Ruby. We were knocking and ringing the bell so Ruby would come to the door or we would at least hear her say something. But it was silence and we were getting worried.

As soon as the guy unlocked the door I dashed in the apartment looking for Ruby. I came running in the living room, and what do think she was doing? Sitting on the couch watching cartoons. I said Ruby! And she looked at me like "Hi mom! You're back." So she was basically just ignoring us and watching cartoons! If she wasn't so cute she'd be dead! I picked Karis up and we brought the rest of the groceries in and put them away as ice cream, milk, and everything else had been sitting out for about 50 minutes.

What an eventful night! Needless to say, our neighbor now has a spare key ;-)
