The Building of the Playhouse

Here is the girls’ playhouse we are in the process of building.  Its currently raining, so I figured I would post some pictures.

We started off with just the floor, and the walls and frames of the side walls laying all over our yard for about a week.  Dustin was working odd shifts and every time we had a minute, Maddie would wake up and start fussing… so it didn’t get done.  Then Friday afternoon (Dustin has a four day weekend) we started getting the walls up:

Our neighbor came over and helped Dustin get the walls and roof on – it went up SO FAST!! Much faster than when I was helping – LOL!

And after like 3 hours this is what it looked like! By the way, this picture was taken at about 10:30 at night!!!!  Gotta love the 20 hours of daylight!

So this morning Dustin got up and started on the shingles

See Karis off to the right, she was posing while I was taking pictures, so I decided to snap one of her

And then the windows cut and starting painting. this is where we are at right now

We had to stop because its raining now… so as soon as its done raining we still have to paint the rest, put on the shutters and door, and paint the trim white.  I’m thinking about getting a lattice to put around the edge like a garden too.

Speaking of gardens…

DSC_0106 This is the garden that Dustin built for me.  I bought corn, zucchini, pumpkins, and snow pea seeds today.  Have to go into town to get the strawberry and tomato plants.

And here is the new grill we got too – only $88 at Walmart – can’t beat that!

So with between our garden, playhouse, grill, and the new bikes, I think we’re set for a summer of outside fun!

Now we just have to get that playhouse finished!

Looks great - bet they have a wonderful time out there. You need big pink flowers plastered over the walls maybe with a bit of bling...
