This last week we’ve been working on a story book with Sierra. Sierra had to think up a story and draw pictures to go with the sentences she wrote. I didn’t help her with the drawings, and only a little with the spelling. Some of the words she figured out, some she copied from books (illustrated) and some she asked me if it was right, and I had to remind her that there are vowels in words (and she added lots of e’s).
So here is Sierra’s book! Sorry for the crappy scans.
She wrote the book, and then she titled it and drew the picture on the front. On the back she wanted me to take a picture of her so she could have an ‘author’s bio’ page. We’ve been looking a lots of different books and finding the authors, the illustrators, reading about the author, etc.
Here is the first page… see if you can decipher her sentences.
For the last day I asked her what she was going to write today. She said ‘THE END’ I told her no, you have to write more than that, how are you going to draw a picture of THE END. So she said, I’ll have them live happily ever after. I was teasing her and said, ooh, are they going to get married and kiss. I was teasing that she was going to have to draw a picture of them kissing. She said, No mom, they aren’t going to get MARRIED, they’re going to live Happily Ever After.
LOL! The way she said it was like there is no way you can be married AND live happily ever after. Hehehe… but then she changed her mind – I think she just wanted to draw a wedding dress and them kissing!
She has been having a blast reading her book to Daddy and her sisters. She even told me that she can make a bunch more copies and we can sell them like at a bookstore! I had to tell her not right now – maybe when she’s older and a little better at spelling and drawing. LOL!
