He’s Home!

This was us last night at 11:45 at the airport

DSCN1023

See the man in the back left, that would be Brigadier General Graper – the Commander of the base here.  He was also meeting someone and his wife was nice enough to take a picture of us waiting.  Of course, we were too busy hugging and kissing Daddy when he got to us that this is the only picture I have!! LOL!

The girls were wound up!!! And Maddie was way off her schedule – she didn’t go to sleep until close to 3am! UGH! But Ruby and Karis slept in until a little after 10 am this  morning.

Dustin is off to work checking in, and then we have him home for two weeks.

So the girls didn’t know that we were picking up Daddy last night.  When we got home from Girl Scouts I told them to get warm jama pants and a long sleeve shirt for jamas.  They were complaining that they were hot, but I told them tough!

Then I let them watch a movie, which was over about 10pm… they thought it was cool they got to sleep together on a school night! Hehehehe!

Of course they were playing around, and annoying each other… so about 10:30 I told them, ALL THREE OF YOU GET DOWN HERE RIGHT NOW!!!  They all lined up for a scolding… I heard “Ruby was sticking her tongue out”, “Karis is kicking me”, “I’m trying to be quiet but they keep annoying me!”

So I start the ‘scolding’

You girls need to be NICE to each other, quit annoying each other, no more kicking, AND GET YOUR SHOES AND SOCKS ON!!!!

They all looked at me confused!!! I told them, get your shoes and socks on, we’re going to pick up Daddy!  Ruby got all excited and ran off to find her shoes and socks.  Karis just kind of stood there not knowing what to do, and Sierra said, Whatever Mommy, you’re just teasing.

I told her, No baby… we are really going to get Daddy, get your shoes and socks on.  She said, nuh huh… I don’t believe you.  I tried to convince her again, so she said – well, PROVE IT!  LOL! So I got on the AlaskaAir site and looked up his flight number… I said, when does that say ETA?  11:38, what time is it now 10:35 – so we are going to pick up Daddy because he’ll be here in an hour!!!!

She got all excited and they were all trying to find their shoes and socks quickly!!!  All got in the car, Ruby and Karis fell asleep on the way in – the ONLY time my kids sleep in the car – sheesh!  Maddie was just chilling out, and Sierra probably asked me about 10 times were we there yet!

When we got home they wanted to show Daddy EVERYTHING they got for Christmas (and birthday), and tell him EVERYTHING that had happened – lol – like we didn’t talk to him once a week!  Sierra told him, I got my hair cut (in OCT!) and donated it.  Ruby told him, I lost two teeth!!  And he just smiled and nodded, because of course, he had already heard it, but its different when they actually have him in front of them!

So we are having a lazy day as we didn’t get settled down and in bed until way after 1am!  The girls are waiting for Daddy to get home from work so they can play barbies, make-over, and peoples – I’m sure he missed barbies these last few months!

Of course Daddy missed Barbies and makeovers the last few months!!

I know I saw him grin ear to ear when Maddie said "Da-Da" to him on cue via a webex, but the thrill will be there all over again when she does it in person.
